Russia U18 Place 4th at Worlds

Shortly before the “losers final”  against Finland bad news arrived for Team Russia: one of its best forwards Vladislav Kartaiev will be unable to assist his teammates - through health reasons - sharp weather change caused high temperature.
At the beginning, the game went equal, puck changing zones incessantly, but there were no actual scoring chances which was evidenced by the two teams shots stats: 9–4 in favor of Suomi team .
First goal came as late as 36th minute scored by Teemu Pullkinen who had shone all through the tournament in previous games. Third period turned a real nightmare for Team Russia as in the span of 10 minutes Finns scored four (!) goals two of which were arranged by the same hot Finnish guy Pullkinen. Then a deja veu act took place as the case had been a day before in a game against Sweden. A grandiose bench emptying brawl broke out resulting in a total of 155 (!) minutes penalties including 6 game misconducts. Strange as it may seem but the shake-up brought fruit when Emil Galimov broke the goose egg assisted by Pavel Kulikov. The game finished with a final score 5-1 for Finland and the 4th place for Mikhail Vasiliev’s squad in the tournament.
